Hi

I myself am not an expert in this area, but a firearms forum I visit, www.thehighroad.org, has a 'firearms research' subforum frequented by some knowledgeable folks.

You will most likely have to register to view/post, but it is free and I have received no spam or otherwise unsolicited material.

If you do post, just make sure you give as much info as possible and be polite, the guys there are great and willing to help.

Sounds like you have a keeper. I think that should read: ';Obsequio de D. Francisco Lamiguiz a La Aduana De Nogales (Arizona) USA.'; Which translates: ';A gift from don Francisco Lamiguiz to customs (or 'border guard') at Nogalez, Arizona (USA). NOTE: ';don'; is a title of respect for a man who has achieved a certain dignity. Sounds like this don Francisco made a gift of this old black powder pistol to some border guard at Nogales. If you are in Arizona why don't you see if you can find some history on this Francisco Lamiguiz. He may have been a famous (or notorious personage) of an earlier era.

Good luck.

You also need to post a photograph or a more complet description.

You neglected to say if the gun is a revolver, a single-shot, single barreled, multi-barreled, flintlock, percussion, or cartridge.

Much more information is needed to help you.
