What is the point of the magic powder (black, green, yellow, etc...) in Maplestory or what do you use it for?

i have 2 sets of three different colors sitting in my etc slots taking up space and need to know if there valuable or useful....thxWhat is the point of the magic powder (black, green, yellow, etc...) in Maplestory or what do you use it for?
I've never played MapleStory, but I'm assuming this will help. Magic powders or for the ';Maker Skill'; and are used to dye equips. There are eight total colors and they apparently aren't very common.
