I know this doesnt answer your question but you dont need makeup, your gorgeous, but you can go to a Belks makeup counter and someone there will help you find your correct shade so you dont waste your money and see if they will give u a slab of it on a cotton ball and take it with you to see if you can get a better idea of what shade to get

  • Black Powder age restriction?

I am currently a resident of Pennsylvania, and I am seventeen years old. Am I allowed to purchase black powder without an adult, or do I have to be eighteen?Black Powder age restriction?
Since you have to be 18 to buy ammo in Pa. I would speculate that buying black powder, or smokeless powder is probably age restricted to 18 as well.Black Powder age restriction?
You have to be 18 to purchase a rifle or shotgun and 21 for a handgun.
Black Powder shouldn't be used for anything than its intended use, due to its dangerous consisteny!!! So if you're not buying it for a gun, or you're trying to make something home'made, then you shouldn't bother...
I'm not sure if there is a law so to speak, but most sellers require the buyer to be 18. However, I know of a couple gun shops that will only ask for ID when buying a gun.

I was able to buy powder and ammo all the time when I was as young as 16. It really depends upon how well you know what you are buying and how well you know the seller.

I have only been carded once at one of my favorite gunshops when buying ammo and powder, although that was because there were like 3 police officers in the place when I checked out.

    How to buy black powder???????????

I found a place that sells black powder. All i want is 1 pound or so. Do you know if i need a license to buy this much of black powder. AND do you think they will sell it to me? I am 18 years old for the record. How to buy black powder???????????
No license and yes at 18 you can buy black powder. There are rules on storage for large quantities but under 10(maybe 20?) pounds you can just store it in the factory container. How to buy black powder???????????
there shouldn't be a problem. blackpowder in its ready form will incur a haz-mat shipping fee when ordering online.

if you run into problems you can always do it the old way- purchase each of its separate components without a hazmat fee or ID check and mix it at home to your choice of blackpowder (they're like 100 different mixes)

where I live there is no license to buy BP or GP, there is a federal law that limits the possession of BP up to 50 lbs.
At age 18, the procedure is the same as buying anything else. You go to the store, give them money, and they give you the powder. It helps if you know which granulation you're wanting. It wouldn't do to get FFFg if you need FFg.
black power is mostly sold in 1 pound cans of different grain sizes. 1f, 2f, 3f, 4f. to fit your usage .no license needed . but check your state laws!! i hope its used only in appropriate firearms.
you can buy black powder but in the future you will have heart problems if you take black powder
They sell it by the pound.

(It's not a real good idea to store more than

that in any one place anyway.)

If you're 18 there should be no problem.
as far as I know you can buy it

Is mixing Black Powder with Casein (similar to whey) a bad idea?

I drink BP, than lift, and after lifting i take casein.. is this a bad idea?Mixing Black Powder with Protein powder?
Casein in the PM..Whey all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mixing Black Powder with Protein powder?
    Casein is different from whey.

Casein is a slow digesting protein and whey is a fast digesting protein.

You should be taking Whey after a workout. Take the Casein either in the morning or at night.

What face powder/cover up is the best for skin prone to black heads and breakouts?

I'm really pale too, so a lot of brands don't carry a shade light enough for me.

Thanks! What face powder/cover up is the best for skin prone to black heads and breakouts?
Get a mineral powder, it works really well covering everything and evening out your skin tone, and is actually GOOD for your skin. It's kinda the new big thing so you shouldn't have a hard time finding it.

I use the Maybelline mineral foundation but I hear Bare Minerals is great. What face powder/cover up is the best for skin prone to black heads and breakouts?
I really like Bare Essentials stuff. I have pale skin and it blends in really good. Also it is not as heavy or cakey so it doesn't look like you smeared something over breakouts. I think it tends to look more natural. I know a lot of companies are doing powdered mineral makeup now, I have never used anything but Bare Essentials though so I can't comment on how they are.
Conventional makeup is made with 90% fillers and 10% colour pigment. Fillers such as talc, oil preservatives, dye and fragrances are the number one cause for break outs and skin irritations.

Unlike conventional cosmetics, mineral powders allow your skin to breathe, not locking in toxins and waste.
try any liquid foundation, i like chanel, but it's expensive. you can try a fluid foundation, they are thin and runny. and the pimples yuu cover them with concealer. in 2 months i will be doing tutorials, search for me on youtube, sab628. good luck !
none... if you really want to get rid of all those spots, putting chemicaly formed makeup is not going to help... rest your skin for a couple of days to a week and see how it turns out... or opt for mineral makeup at least.... good luck!

  • Black powder in the pan, and pyrodex in the barrel.(Hunting, Guns)?

Is it possible to have pyrodex in the barrel, without mixing it with BP aswell. And having Blaco powder in the fan to set it off. As pyrodex dose not work to good in pan of a flinter.

ThanksBlack powder in the pan, and pyrodex in the barrel.(Hunting, Guns)?
Pyrodex is to flintlock as oil is to water, cat is to dog or Democrat is to truth. The two simply do not mix. Pyrodex will work in a caplock or in an inline but flintlocks require black powder in the barrel as well as in the pan. Pyrodex and all other black powder substitutes, of which I am aware, have a much higher ignition point and cannot be reliably ignited by a flintlock. If you choose to use a black powder substitute in a flintlock, the only way you can get a reliable ignition is by using a duplex load. A duplex load is one in which you put a small amount of black powder down the bore first and then put Pyrodex or other black powder substitute on top of it. If you do this, the black powder must be taken into account as part of your load. For instance, if you are shooting a .50 cal rifle and your normal load is 80 grains and you choose to use a duplex load, whatever amount of black powder you use must be subtracted from your 8o grain load. if you use 10 grains of black powder, then you would use only 70 grains of Pyrodex. If you are considering using Pyrodex pellets, you had better forget that idea right now. They will not work, period! If you do put one down your barrel, you will most likely end up having to dig it out.

So, if you have a flintlock, use only black powder. If you want to use Pyrodex, trade your flintlock for either a caplock or an inline.Black powder in the pan, and pyrodex in the barrel.(Hunting, Guns)?
Yes as long as the Pyrodex ignites from the Black Powder all will work I have seen this work and have upgraded to and in-line and enjoy the Black Powder sport even more.

Flintlock with roundballs....how many grains of black powder do you shoot?

i shoot with 90 grains in my .50 cal Thompson Renegade. haven't tagged a deer yet after 5 pulls of the trigger so far. 2 more days until the season opens here in PA.Flintlock with roundballs....how many grains of black powder do you shoot?
90 grains of black powder will be plenty to kill a deer. If you are sighted in with 90 grains, do not change it now or you will have to get in some more range time to resight your rifle for the new charge. Did you try several different charges to be sure that 90 grains is the best charge for your rifle? After this season, if you have not already done it, you should go to the range and try several charges to see which one your rifle shoots best. I'd start at 80 grains and fire five rounds at a target set at about 50 yards. Then increase your charge by 5 grain incerments shooting five rounds at a new target for each charge until you get up to 120 grains. Measure each of the groups to determine which is the best charge in terms of the smallest group. This is the one that you should use in the future. If you want to get even more accuracy, try using different thicknesses of patches to determine which your rifle prefers. The next variable to check is which lube your rifle likes. This all involves a lot of shooting but if you enjoy shooting your rifle as much as I do, it will be a real fun project to see what load your rifle performs best with.Flintlock with roundballs....how many grains of black powder do you shoot?
Rifles can vary in accuracies so I think you have to start with what the manufacturer recommends in grains and then experiment with various loads (+ or - a couple of grains at a time) until you print well at 50 yards or 100 yards depending on your usual shooting distance.

Have you tried ';Triple 7'; yet? It is easy to clean and has a higher fps than the same charge of conventional black powder.
your .50 round ball weighs about 180 grains so following the old formula of 1/2 the ball weight for hunting %26amp; 1/3 the the ball weight for target shooting 90 grains should be about right if your gun likes that load %26amp; doesnt foul too much for a quick reload, some 50s shoot better groups with 75 grains %26amp; thats still enough power for deer.especially if you use 3f instead of 2f powder.

some guys use up to 120 grains but they usually cant fully seat a ball for a second shot with the field rod that fits under the barrel %26amp; so much crud blows out of the vent that the flint %26amp; frizzen has to be cleaned between shots.
Rather than asking someone else that question, why not READ the owners manual for the firearm %26amp; find out what they suggest.

If it is a used gun %26amp; you haven't fired it before, It would be stupid, to go hunting with a gun that you aren't familure with.

I would think you should have enough smarts to figure that out for yourself, but then again, maybe i am giving you too much credit
Even tho I shoot a caplock T/C .50 Hawken, I find that 70gr. of Pyrodex is more than sufficient for punching paper with round balls.

The two kill shots I have made with my 'smokepole' were loads of 100gr. of RS Pyrodex over a 325gr. T/C Maxi conical slug. On both 100+yd. chest shots, the targets dropped without even taking a step.

I have just begun using Triple 7, after hearing %26amp; reading so much positive kudos about it, and I have noticed it IS somewhat cleaner, both shooting it, and cleaning weapons after the range.
90 sounds about right. I shoot 120 in my .54 cal. You may have to vary it a little bit ot get the best accuracy.

  • Black powder and sulfur pioneers?

Blackpower is composed of Saltpeter, charcoal, and sulfur. Where and how did the american pioneers find sulfur? There are not to many volcanoes in the midwest!? I understand they could have made their own charcoal from wood, but where in the heck would have they gotten saltpeter and sulfur from?Black powder and sulfur pioneers?
Sulfur can be found in various mineral springs and collected by letting the water evaporate. Sulfur can also be mined. Saltpeter (Potassium Nitrate) leaches out of manure piles and can be collected in large chunks. It is also available from both bird and bat guano.

Bill- I think these were made sometime in the 1960s-1980s. They are not old, not collectible, and not valuable. Probably fun to shoot (with black powder after being checked by a competent gunsmith) or a good decorator item for over the fireplace. Really good to leave out for the burglars to steal instead of your valuable guns. Hope this helps. John Spangler

Dont let that gun out of your hands until you have done extensive research. i just looked up a couple to give you a ball park and they didnt have your exact model, but the ones i found were feching as much as $40,000.00 i have no information on your gun at this time but i will have more later and i will track you down again and tell you what i find out. i have a suspicion that you have a valuable gun here and i would hate to see you let it go for less than its worth. add me or whatever to your contacts and i wil for sure get the best value for you. my uncle is a shotgun collector and he knows his stuff i cant even tell you how much he knows about these older guns, like ithica and belgium brownings. when he was here to visit me i took him to my local gunshop. he saw this old ithica double barrel 12 guage. they were asking $800 and new it was special but apparently not as much as he did. when he got it home and researched it completely it turned out to be valued at $18,000.00 and its not even in 95% condition. so anyway i will call him tonight or so and find out what he knows, in the meantime i urge you not to let it go for any price no matter how tempting.I have an old 10ga.black powder shotgun that dates back to 1868 to 1925.I am trying to find its value.?

They were manufactured between 1891 and 1910.

Black powder loads for 2 guns?

What is the correct grain load for a working replica of an Colt 1860 Army? How about a modern .50 caliber muzzle loader? On the same note what is the best way to measure the loads when you do not have a measuring device? IE scales or a drop loader.Black powder loads for 2 guns?
if memory serves... black powder firearms usually take a square charge. that is ... .44 cal would take 44 grains of fffg powder... .36 would take 36 grains, and so on.

Those charges were proved safe for my guns... you should always start low and work up. Your individual weapons may like a lighter or heavier charge for accuracy's sake.

You need a scale to measure your charge. I used to cut down a empty cartridge to a length that would hold a measured charge and silver solder a wire handle on to make a dipper. You can find items that will do this job in the blackpowder section of Walmart and other guns stores and online sources like Midway.com

When you load that Colt... pack the top of the cylinder with a cotton wad... or a dollop of Crisco or other grease... those BP pistols throw fire everyplace and are know to chain fire the other chambers if you don't grease over the bullets. The Crisco melts and coats the pistol and makes it a lot easier to clean after shooting.Black powder loads for 2 guns?
Pietta and/or Uberti will be happy to send you a FREE owners manual.

As long as you're using real black or Pyrodex, in most modern replicas, if you can seat the ball and rotate the cylinder, it probably won't grenade in your hand. In that .44, you use a .451 or .452 round ball, by the way. If you don't get a little ring of lead when you seat the ball, the ball you're using is too small. You won't get the best accuracy with a max charge, though. 25-30 grains (by VOLUME) usually gets you the best accuracy.

Be sure to use Crisco over the ball, as a chain fire is something you won't soon forget.

It's probably going to print a lot higher than you think, too.

    Your mileage may vary.

what powder loads and bullets for a t/c encoreWhat is the best load to shoot from a black powder rifle?
If the load info in your owners' manual isn't sufficient, invest in a black powder manual.

My 35 yr old Lyman has been fingered %26amp; flipped thru so often that the spine is falling apart. It is a really great reference, listing many loads for just about every 'smokepole' %26amp; pistol on the market.

If you get into the sport as much as I have, you might look into casting your own projectiles, as well.

I own a T/C .50 Hawken, a pair of Trad. .50 'Trapper' singles, and a pair of Ruger .45 ';Old Army'; six-guns, and I have had a BLAST with ALL of them over the years, including casting all of my own round balls %26amp; conical slugs. What is the best load to shoot from a black powder rifle?
Two or three pre-formed Pyrodex pellets, as per manufacturer recommendation, should be able to push anything out the right end on there. As for what bullets you want to use, it depends on what you're using them for. Thompson Center does sell bullets especially for use in the Encore muzzleloaders, and without knowing the caliber or intended purpose of your Encore I can't tell you which ones to get specifically, but look at their online store and take your pick: https://secure.tcarms.com/store/index.ph鈥?/a>
All of the load data is in your owner's manual.

I need more info in order to answer your question. What caliber? What use? Hunting? Target shooting? What is the twist rate of the barrel? If the barrel has a fast twist rate, then it is designed for conical bullets. If it has a twist rate of around 1 in 66, it is intended to shoot patched round balls.

I suspect that you are talking about a gun with a barrel with a fast twist rate more suitable for conical bullets. I'd also guess that the caliber is .50. If this is that case, you shold shoot the .45 caliber saboted bullets and load two pellets (100 gr) of Pyrodex. If the gun is a magnum, you could then go to 3 pellets of Pyrodex (150 grains) but be prepared for a pretty sharp recoil.
    Don't ask us!!!

    ASK YOUR RIFLE!!!!!

Take your rifle and an assortment of different bullets in different weights and shapes, some Pyriodex (spit) some 777, and a can each of Elephant, Goex, and Swiss (if you can get it). Also take different thicknesses of patches.

Try different powders, different bullets, different bullet weights, and different patch thicknesses to see what combination works best for your rifle.

I wanted to buy a black powder rifle from a dealer in washington state can I do this going directly from him to me or do I need to have it shipped to a ffl dealer.thanksCan i buy a black powder rifle in michigan thru the mail?
Black powder muzzle-loading weapons (including all revolvers) are classified as antiques, relics, and/or curios and are not regulated as modern firearms and can be purchased and shipped with their accessories through the mail. (Don't forget the insurance!)

Black powder CARTRIDGE weapons are an entirely different class, and must be handled through a FFL dealer.

Black powder itself is classed as a low explosive and a hazardous material and requires special permits, fees %26amp; handling.

With the incurred shipping %26amp; insurance involved, you would probably be better off having a dealer handle the grunt work, especially if you are lucky to count a really good one as a personal friend, as I do.

The answer from ';Scott M'; made me cringe. Taking a modern rifle apart does get around the law. You can ship, or even mail, most parts of a modern rifle. The part that the Government labels as the rifle is usually the receiver and that is the part that is restricted. Since Scott and his buddy shipped the receiver without the FFL they violated the law. They were very lucky they didn't get caught at it. They saved about $50 at the risk of going to prison for 10 years.
    i live in MI and i bought a rifle from a guy in texas. i just had him mail it in two seperate pieces so neither of us would get in trouble for ';Unlawful Transport of a Deadly Weapon.';

Black powder pre workout, is it any good?

im trying to gain weight and a good friend that takes black powder said i should try it he says it gets him pumped for the work out. If anyone has tried this stuff please let me know any tips will be helpfulBlack powder pre workout, is it any good?
    YES it's good

i use it on my off-cycle for general energy...it gives you some amazing pumps...i use vapor on my regular cycle...

but black powder is amazing...but you can never use a stimulant for more than 3 months or you'll get use to it...so you need to switch it up.

Since gun and black powder are both obsolete, what do modern guns use instead?

Neither are obsolete by any stretch of the imagination. Both are still very much in use today.

Smokeless powder was invented by a French chemist named Vielle. The first cartridge it was used in was the 8mm Lebel.....NOT the .30-30Since gun and black powder are both obsolete, what do modern guns use instead?
Your question is flawed. You asked about ';gun and black powder,'; and I assume you mean gunpowder and black powder. Well, blackpowder is no longer used in modern firearms, but the term gunpowder refers to blackpowder, smokeless, etc. It is a broad term. Anyway, modern firearms use smokeless powder. It's more efficient, smokes less, and is more stable. All around a better propellant.Since gun and black powder are both obsolete, what do modern guns use instead?
smokeless powder isnt obsolete. Neither is black powder. Just depends on what you like to play or hunt with. If your talking advanced military technology, they still mostly have firearms that use smokeless powder. There are some experimental weapons that use radio waves and such but those probably wont be used for a while by the military. I've only really seen those on a show called future weapons though. They were also talking bullets that can be programmed when to burst.
Whatever gave yo the idea that either muzzleloding firearms or black powder are obsolete. Couldn't be further from the truth.

In fact, muzzleloading is one of the fastest growing of the shooting sports.

Rather than black powder, modern firearms use smokeless powder. The first cartridge designed to use in was the .30-30
Modern smokeless propellants are generally single-based with nitrocellulose as the primary component, but there are lots of additives: retardants and graphite coatings, as well as the shape of the granules being designed for the desired effect. There are some double-based propellants that contain a bit of nitroglycerine as well as the nitrocellulose.
Neither guns or black power is obsolete.

Modern black powder shooters shoot black powder. Modern cartridges use smokeless powder.
guncotton is mainly used now in all modern weapons as it is smokeless and has a powerful charge

How do you make black powder?

black powder for guns ang rifles.......How do you make black powder?
Wonderful place to ask this question.

First off, it is VERY DANGEROUS to attempt to make black powder. It takes specialized tools and great experience. Black powder, unlike modern smokeless powders, can be detonated if it jarred or dropped. In other words, too much pressure on it and it explodes!

Another thing, it is NOT equal parts of the 3 main ingrediants.

Ok, but assuming that you are preparing for the worst...like some sort of economic armagedon...then here is a link that explains the process. Read it. Print it. Save it. Just don't try it unless you are face starvation and need to make black powder to go hunting to sustain yourself...

Potassium Nitrate, charcoal(carbon),sulfur. good luck getting the ingredients together and measured accurately though. potassium nitrate and sulfur are available at any drugstore but good luck getting the pharmacist to sell it to you. Can you say UNI-BOMBER? LOL

Besides the mark up on such products make buying the individual ingredients uncost effective. just buy black powder.
It is not hard to find recipes for black powder on line. Some of them will tell you that you can make your own gun powder. Usually, what you end up with is an extremely dangerous process that can very easily blow up and kill you. What many people don't understand is that black powder is easily set off by grinding. If you grind the charcoal, sulfur and salt peter separately and them mix them together, you end up with a mixture that is easily separated by vibration or jiggling. As it separates, it changes in its reactivity and can increase or decrease in power. Some of the recipes tell you how to mix your powder with water and then force the paste through a screen to make a granular powder. You have to thoroughly dry the powder and then sieve it to separate it into the various grades. This sieving requires that you buy some pretty expensive sieves. In the end, you will find that you are far better off and far safer just spending the money and buying commercial black powder. I have a degree in chemistry and have worked with some pretty dangerous stuff but I wouldn't even consider making black powder. I value my limbs and life more than that.
I work in special effects, making explosives is dangerous for us and we are BA min. I would buy it the equipment and safety measures required are well beyond the means of the average person.

For reference and educational purposes only:

BP is equal parts salt peter, sulfur, and carbon
you cant bench make black powder consistently good enough for a black powder rifle. YOU SHOULDN'T DO THIS. PERIOD. you can kill yourself
any gun powder is very dangerous to make home made black is more like a flash powder if you drop it or bump it it can blow up its Better to buy it its safer

In some cases, when you have an ear infection, there can be a yellowish discharge coming from the ear. (I'm not talking about earwax.) Are you having any pains in your ear? Even if you aren't, you should still make an appointment with your physician and he or she can prescribe something to get it cleared up.

  • I need instructions on how to load a black powder gun?

You either need to read the owners manual that came with your gun, or contact the manufacturer to have a manual sent out to you. While the procedure is fairly simple, there are a lot of variables involved and doing something wrong could cause you (or others around you) severe injury or death. Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and read the owners manual.I need instructions on how to load a black powder gun?
FIRST, you need to refer to the owner's manual for the recommended powder charge for your gun. There are many different calibers and each requires a different amount of powder. You also need to know which granulation is best for your gun. In general, anything from .45 caliber on doen will use fffG (three f) powder. From .45 on up, you will need ffG (two f) powder. this is not a hard and fast rule but a good rule of thumb. Many old timers said that the way to determine the correct amount of powder for your gun was to place a ball of the correct caliber in your cupped palm and pour enough powder into your hand to cover the ball. I have tried this for several of my guns and found that the amount of powder that you get with this method is often more than what will give you the best accuracy. Another thing to consider in addition to the powder, is the best size of ball for your rifle. Each caliber will have several different size balls difffering in only a few thousands from each other but this small size can make a siginificant difference in accuracy. A third thing to consider is patch thickness. Patches can range from less than 10 thousandths of an inch thick to over 30 thousandths in thickness.

Once these things have been resolved, you are left with how do you load the selected components. First, wipe out the bore with a dry patch or two. If you have a percussion rifle, fire one or two caps through an uncharged barrel to be sure that the nipple is clear and that there are no obstructions in the barrel. To do this, place a cap on the nipple, point the muzzle in a safe direction and down at the ground toward a leaf of grass. When you fire the cap, if the bore is unobstructed, the leaf of grass will move. Having done this and you are sure that the bore is unobstructed, pour the measured charge of powder down the bore. With the heel of your hand, give the barrel a few raps to settle the powder. Place a patch on the muzzle so that it is carefully centered on the muzzle. Place a ball on the center of the patch. Use a short starter to start the ball and patch down the bore. Remmove the short starter from the bore and replace it with the ramrod. Use constant pressure to press the ball and patch down on the powder. Do not bang on the end of the rod or use up and down banging motions to ram the ball down. Be sure that the ball is seated firmly on the powder. If it is not, you could blow up the barrel. Replace the ramrod under the barrel and step up to the firing line. DO NOT cap your nipple until you are on the firing line with the muzzle pointed down range. At that time, put the hammer on half cock and place a cap on the nipple. Shoulder your rifle and point the muzzle at the intended target. Place the hammer on full cock and you are ready to fire. These directions will work for a traditional caplock as well as an inline rifle. If you are shooting sabbotted bullets, you will not be using a patch so you can skip the patch step.

If you have a flintlock, there is a difference in the loading procedure. Instead of firing a cap on the nipple, you will place a small charge of ffffG (four f) powder in the frizzen pan, close the frizzen, point the muzzle at a blade of grass and fire the pan of powder. Proceed with the loading procedure the same as with a caplock until you come to the charging of the pan. DO NOT charge the pan until you are on the firing line with the muzzle pointed down range. Place the cock on half cock, open the frizzen pan and pour in a small charge of ffffG powder into the pan. Close the firzzen, shoulder the rifle and point at the intended target. Pull the cock to full cock and you are ready to fire.

These instructions are very abbreviated and intended only to give you an idea of what the loading process is. You need to get someone with experience to show you how to do it and you need to get a good blackpowder handbook. With the owners manual, a good blackpowder handbook and a good experineced instructor to get you going you will soon be on your way to a world of fun with your muzzleloader.I need instructions on how to load a black powder gun?
the gun should have a users manuel. look in there
Simply put.... find someone that knows what they are doing to help!
A manual for your gun will be best. Most call for different powder charges or granulations of powder. My thompson center black diamond needs FFg or pyrodex, it is also .50. Lesser calibers usually use FFFg.

Most manufactures will send you a free manual, so definitely write whoever makes the gun.
generally if you are loading percussion rifle(hawkin,Trapper, ect.) you load around 60 grains of powder, down the barrel, ram a ball over a patch bown the barrel, and insert a cap over the firing nipple. thus you are loaded and ready to fire.you can buy a powder despenser with a pre measured flange. pre soak patches in light oil so that your ball and patch ram easyly down the barrel. percussion pistols very much the same way weather it is a single shot or cap and ball revolver.flint lock pretty much the same except for the flint piece is inserted between the two piece lock mecognism, instead of cap over nipple, wheel house are diferent. i realy do not know much about these types of guns.
Could you be a little more vague? What type of blackpowder gun is it? percussion? Flintlock? In-Line? Is it a rifle or a shotgun, or even a wheelgun? What caliber? Is it designed for roundball? Will it take belted sabot? Is it new production or an antique?
CIH was very complete, and baring getting face to face help did the best so far.

The one thing he omitted was: when reloading, never let any part of your body, (or anyone elses), be in front of the muzzle. An ember from the previous shot can ignite the new charge as it falls into the barrel causing a flash that can injure you.

Others have said it but I repeat get face to face instruction from an experienced shooter first.

Most will be glad to do it.

Buying powder online isn't very cost effective as both Fed Ex and UPS tack on a minimum $20 hazardous materials charge (on top of the regular shipping charges) to EACH box shipped that contains it. It makes the powder wind up costing almost twice what it would buying it locally.

Gunpowder of any kind can not be sent through USPS.

Try powderinc.com. They are fairly reasonable but you will have to order 5 pounds but it can be different granulation's. I ordered powder last fall and shipped it was about 20 bucks a pound. It is getting harder to find and shipping is very high.

This company has many kinds and brands of real black powder. They carry ( or did) blasting powder and powders used in pyrotechnics but you will need a license for that stuff. Their shipping time is less than a week. Just have to have someone that is adult available to sign for the order when it arrives.

Will it matter if I use black pepper instead of white pepper powder?

in gumbo? Will it matter if I use black pepper instead of white pepper powder?
White pepper has a little milder flavor than black pepper, but in gumbo it shouldn't matter. I routinely substitute black pepper for white pepper in my recipes. Keep this in mind... if you are making a cream soup or a lighter colored soup, usually the recipe calls for white pepper so it doesn't look like you have dirt floating around in your soup. You can't see the white pepper like you see the black pepper. But as long as you don't mind the color... the taste is usually just the same.

Bottom line... unless you are worried about the color... just use what you have! (unless you are entertaining Martha Stewart)Will it matter if I use black pepper instead of white pepper powder?
It won't make a difference in gumbo.I prefer the flavor of white pepper in most recipes, especially soup or cream sauces.

File Powder is more of a thickening agent.

Thanks for making me hungry for Gumbo!!! ;)
Doesn't matter on the pepper and you can use Okra instead of file powder(sassafras)
The taste of black pepper and white pepper are similar. The main difference is in the appearance -- it'll have black flecks in it.
shouldn't matter in gumbo...if you were making a white sauce where you can see the pepper flecks, then it would matter
No, it won't, i actually prefer black pepper, it is stronger and nicer flavoured I think
No. It may taste a smidge different and will look different, but my opinion about cooking is: use what's on hand and just use recipes as a guide.

    Happy cooking!
black pepper is a bit stronger than white, but in gumbo I think it would be fine.
    From Wikipedia:

Gumbos can be broadly divided into three categories: those thickened with okra, those thickened with fil茅 powder, and those thickened exclusively with roux. Modern recipes of both okra and fil茅 categories generally call for a dark roux that provides additional thickening and flavoring. Okra and fil茅 powder are, at least historically, not used together in the same dish. You may, however, see a lighter roux combined with roped (sauteed plain to remove the 'stringy' effect) okra and topped with file' after cooking for the sweet flavor.

Fil茅 powder, ground dried sassafras leaves, was in wide use by the native Choctaws (kombo,in the native language and likely the origin of the word gumbo) when European colonists arrived. In modern recipes, fil茅 gumbos sometimes use roux as their primary thickener, with the actual fil茅 powder added as preferred at the table by the eater.

A Dark Roux used in a Cajun gumbo and sometimes in a Creole gumbo is cooked until extremely dark. Butter will burn if used to make this type of roux, so lard or oil are the fats of choice. If the roux is to be used with okra, a lighter color may be desired, as the flavor of a dark roux is quite overpowering. Most Creole gumbos do not use as dark a roux as the Cajuns, but a medium reddish-brown type roux; the word roux comes from the french word ';rouge';, meaning ';red.'; The ';holy trinity'; of onion, celery, and bell pepper will often be cooked in the hot roux itself before the stock is added.

The traditional practice of using okra in the summer (in season) and fil茅 in the winter has played a role in defining the kinds of gumbo usually associated with each. These associations are not hard and fast rules, but more of a general guide. For example a purely seafood gumbo is usually not thickened with fil茅, while one that is purely meat and game would usually not have okra. This reflects traditional practices of fishing and crabbing in warmer weather and hunting and butchering in cooler weather.
No it shouldn't matter. To me it is all about flavours, so the difference will be not noticeable to me.

I have a black powder revolver with a stuck nipple.?

Ok no need for nipple jokes... well actually there's always a need for nipple jokes but anyway. I have soaked the nipple in break free over night and tried heating it up but cant for the life of me get it to turn. Any other suggestions of how I can break loose the rusty nipple?I have a black powder revolver with a stuck nipple.?
You are doing the right things. Keep soaking it. It probably has never been removed and is really corroded in the cylinder. Squirt some of the break Freee into the cylinder so it can be working from both ends. If you get it to move at all, remove it by rocking back and forth rather than trying to remove it by screwing it all the way out. This rocking motion will break up any corrosion that is in the threads. The stuff tends to wedge in the threads as the nipple comes out and can jam it again. Do not apply excessive force to get the nipple out or you may break it off. It it still defies removal, take it a gunsmith and let him remove it. He may have to drill it out and freshen the threads. Unless you are amachinistt, you cannot do that without a very great chance of messing up your cylinder.

Good luck.I have a black powder revolver with a stuck nipple.?
There is some oil called Kroil that is a high penetration oil that you can soak it in over night. It may be hard to find, so you could go to your auto parts store and ask them to help. I have used some stuff called PB Blast from the auto parts place, it's for breaking free rusted parts too. Liquid Wrench may work for you also.

While you are at the store, buy a small tube of anti-seize lube. Before you install new nipples, place a tiny bit of this stuff on the threads with a Q-tip to help avoid this problem in the future.
You can get extra leverage by sticking the handle of the nipple wrench into the hole of a regular wrench ( http://www.lakewoodconferences.com/direc鈥?/a> ). If you don't know how to get extra leverage with a regular wrench, you can use a metal tube to extend the handle length of your nipple wrench. If you still have problems or you simply don't want to force the nipple to turn, you'll have to invest in a can of liquid wrench. You could get it at most hardware stores.
Go to the gun store. I forget what they call it but you can actually buy a liquid that will help with that.

What are the chemical components of black powder?

The classical answer is very old:

    Saltpeter, charcoal, sulfur.

In reality there are many versions, some very new.

Sodium nitrate (also called Chili saltpeter) can be substituted for Potassium nitrate (saltpeter). Potassium chlorate can also be used as the oxidizer.

The charcoal is best if from softwood (like artists charcoal) not hardwood (like charcoal briquettes). It must be in the form of a fine powder.

The sulfur used is usually called flowers of sulfur. This also is a very fine powder, not lumps of sulfur.

The addition of magnesium or aluminum powder will make ';flash powder,'; once used in photography. What are the chemical components of black powder?
Black powder consists of the granular ingredients sulfur (S), charcoal (provides carbon to the reaction) and saltpetre (saltpetre, potassium nitrate, KNO3; provides oxygen to the reaction).

A simple, commonly cited, chemical equation for the combustion of black powder is:

    2 KNO3 + S + 3C 鈫?K2S + N2 + 3CO2

A more accurate, but still simplified[1], equation is

    10 KNO3 + 3S + 8C 鈫?2K2CO3 + 3K2SO4 + 6 CO2 + 5N2

The products of burning do not follow any simple equation. One study's results showed it produced (in order of descending quantities): 55.91% solid products: Potassium carbonate, Potassium sulfate, Potassium sulfide, Sulfur, Potassium nitrate, Potassium thiocyanate, Carbon, Ammonium carbonate. 42.98% gaseous products: Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen, Carbon monoxide, Hydrogen sulfide, Hydrogen, Methane. 1.11% water

The optimum proportions for gunpowder are: 74.64% saltpetre, 13.51% charcoal, and 11.85% sulfur (by mass). The current standard for black powder manufactured by pyrotechnicians today is 75% potassium nitrate, 15% softwood charcoal and 10% sulfur.

For the most powerful black powder ';meal'; a wood charcoal is used. The best wood for the purpose is pacific willow, but others such as alder or buckthorn can be used. The ingredients are mixed as thoroughly as possible. This is achieved using a ball mill with non-sparking grinding apparatus (lead), or similar device. What are the chemical components of black powder?
A simple, commonly cited, chemical equation for the combustion of black powder is:

    2 KNO3 + S + 3C 鈫?K2S + N2 + 3CO2

To ship a black powder handgun (Colt Navy reproduction) from Florida to Ohio do you need to go through a FFL? I know on the recieving end you do not but on the shipping end do you?

Buy one from Cabela's...they ship it right to you. UPS will require an adult signature, though.Shipping a black powder handgun?
Black powder firearms are NOT considered firearms under title 18 section 922. They can be shipped person to person, Obviously while obeying any rules of your shipper.

To the poster above. They are NOT Curio %26amp; Relic. C%26amp;R is any non blackpowder gun older then 50 years or on the ATF's C%26amp;R list. the only thing a C%26amp;R gets you is the ability to ship to a Curio %26amp; Relic dealer (type 03 FFL) / 03 FFL's are $30 for 3 years and not subject to the zoning restrictions ATF places on 01/ FFL's .

The link below will help you not give advise that makes people unknowingly commit federal felonies.
Black powder guns are considered Relics or Curios and are exempt from firearm registration and restrictions.

Ohio has even more lax firearm laws.

Clean and oil it well....wrap and ship as you would any other merchandise......insure it for the antiquity value......To protect yourself, when you ship it, you can require signature of an adult which will almost guarantee it will end up in the correct hands.

You can use the services of a fire arms dealer, but I do not think it would be necessary.
black powder revolvers and rifles have been ruled by the BATFE NOT to be a firearm as defined. therefore, they are un regulated and can be shipped thru the mail. just make darn sure it is unloaded, no powder or caps may be shipped in the mail, but I prefer ups or fed ex. package it well, but do not seal the package. take it to fed ex or ups direct, they will inspect it, make sure it is packaged properly, seal it with you there, and ship it. Just be sure to purcahse insurance on it..

Potassium nitrate, sulfur and charcoal. What are the components of black powder?
sulfur, potassium nitrate and, charcoalWhat are the components of black powder?
Black powder is gunpowder which is still used in quarry work as an explosive.

The ingredients are potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulphur.

Among other uses it is also used as a charge for firearms and in fireworks.
Black powder is a low explosive, composed essentially of a mixture of potassium nitrate or sodium nitrate, charcoal, and sulfur. It is hydroscopic and subject to rapid deterioration when exposed to moisture. It is also one of the most dangerous explosives to handle because of the ease with which it is ignited by heat, friction, or spark.

Although the use of black powder as a propellant and as a projectile bursting charge has ceased, it remains an explosive that will be encountered in ammunition and ammunition components.

A Knight Wolverine black powder rifle shoots 100 grains of powder, not 150, right?

It's been a long time since I shot this one.A Knight Wolverine black powder rifle shoots 100 grains of powder, not 150, right?
I have the same rifle and us 100 grains. I found when I started going up in powder charges, recoil increased, accuracy stayed the same or got worse. I just use 100 grains of loose powder for everything now. I am intrested in trying the new Triple 7 pellets. They are supposed to give you more velocity and energy.A Knight Wolverine black powder rifle shoots 100 grains of powder, not 150, right?
You didn't say what caliber your rifle is but I would suspect that it is a .50 calilber. I shoot a .50 caliber and use between 80 and 100 grains of ffG powder depending on the distance I expect to be shooting. 80 for heavy woods and 100 for open fields. I have never run into a situation where I thought 150 grains was needed. Thats LOT of powder and a lot more recoil than you really need. If you are using the premeasured pellets, I would just use two of them. Be sure to take your gun to the range to check the sights and see where 100 grains is putting the bullet before going to the woods.
I have a 50 cal TCA, it will take 150 grains but I only use 100 grains and it shoots just fine. Four deer over the last 3 years and they have all dropped in their tracks. I would go to 150 grains if I was hunting elk or bear, but for whitetail 100 grains is plenty.
Most black powder rifles ( .50 caliber ) will shoot well with 100 grains of powder. Mine does, with patched round ball ammo. That is a strong enough load to do some hunting with. 150 grains would be pushing it. I wouldn't ever go more than 120 grains in any black powder rifle. Check the manufacturer's web site to verify. A mistake with any gun is not something you want to deal with.
I have a Thompson Center Encore and I use 150 grains of powder with a 295 gr. PowerBelt bullet. It really shoots well with a 3 inch group at 200 yds. It does however produce extreme amounts of recoil, but with a limbsaver pad this is not felt as readily. Use what groups the best out of your particular gun. I used to shoot 100gr. with a 185 gr. bullet, and it shot well. Every muzzeloader is different though.

Is a Black Powder Rifle kit fun and safe to build?

Thanks guysIs a Black Powder Rifle kit fun and safe to build?
Basically, all you'll be doing with the kit is fitting the barrel and lock into the stock and putting the finish on the wood and bluing the gun barrel. It's fun to do and completely safe as long as you have experience shooting a black powder gun. You'll also have the satisfaction of having a gun that you put together yourself. If you haven't shot any muzzle loaders ask a friend to help you get started. Always wear ear and eye protection when shooting, too.Is a Black Powder Rifle kit fun and safe to build?
If you get a good quality kit and have a little better than basic skills with tools, you'll have no problem. If you get a cheap kit, directions may be difficult to follow and brass castings may have air bubbles in them or cracks. Fitting is a time consuming process and if you try to do it fast, you lower the value of the arm quickly.

Bluing or browning a barrel takes some skill and generally, home bluing or cold bluing does not work very well. Browning works a little better. Metal finishing is also time consuming and the final product depends on how well you sanded or polished the metal. You can overdo it and start rounding sharp surfaces if not careful.

Take your time and read up a little in some gun books about stocking a gun and finishing steel. I have seen kits made by beginners that looked like custom guns and have seen some that looked like a 8 year old slapped it together. It's easy to remove too much and impossible to put any material back, so take it slow and easy.

When you're done, you'll have something to pass on and will enjoy shooting if you don't mind the mess and clean up with black power. Black powder was taking game and humans for many years before modern smokeless cartridge guns. Good Luck.
I have built several and they are fun and safe as long as you put them together right.Basically kits come in different ratings according to your skill level . Good companies to go to for kits are Lyman, Thompson center, Track of the wolf,(I highly recommend this company) Dixie Gunworks, to name some big ones,...Do a little research and go to some summer rendezvous at local gun ranges and talk to the folks there and they'll be happy to see you through it ! Always lookin' for a new buckskinner!....I must admit though, Thompson center rifles seem to be the most accurate.
I love to shoot blackpowder. I have a few flintlocks. I have zero experience with putting them together from a kit form, but I will offer this story...which is purely hearsay...from a friend of mine.

My friend is a gunsmith and owns his own gunshop. He does just about every sort of gun modification you could want; he has a full machine shop in the back. He told me how he got the bright idea to buy the muzzle loaders in kit form, put them together as semi-custom guns and then sell them at a higher profit than he could from just the finished rifles. He then went on to say that it required the use of some of his rather sophisticated and expensive machine shop tools to actually get the guns together. He explained that both the metal and wood parts required extensive work to make them fit properly.

I dunno. Perhaps my friend was merely scaring me into buying the finished guns on his shelf, but it was enough to steer me clear of such a project.

On the other hand, if you have the talent, I am sure it would be rewarding to make your own muzzle loading rifle to your own specifications (chose the color of the wood stain and perhaps a few embellishments).
    fun ?

    yes

Done right it certainly would but keep in mind black powder explodes confined or not. Treat the stuff with respect or someone could get a nasty powder burn.

That being said make sure to use a fine grade like FFFg or better yet FFFFg priming powder because they ignite easier.

  • How accurate are black powder rifles ? Older versus newer ? How about black powder pistols as well ?

The shooter is normally the weak factor.

Blackpowder guns CAN be quite accurate, in fact black powder burns very consistently so it really works well for accuracy, providing other details like rifling and such are up to snuff.

A higher end well made blackpowder rifle, like a Sharpes Rifle, is very accurate, pretty much equal in accuracy as an off the shelf hunting rifle of today. And a blackpowder revolver such as you would find during the civil war, also pretty comparable to accuracy you would get out of a smith and Wesson purchased today.

There are more ways a blackpowder shooter can negatively affect his accuracy though. Cartridges are usually very consistent in powder charges, the person loading the black powder rifle might not be extremely exact.

Now, you keep on going further back in time and the accruacy gets less and less. The original hande-gunnes weren't accurate at all, part of that was they were jaming any old rock down the muzzle, and part of that was to shoot it you point it vaguely in the direction of the enemy, then you look at the charge hole and apply the match. A modern equivalent would be shooting a target rifle while watching the second-hand on your watch go around. Doesn't matter how accurate the target rifle can be if you aren't even looking down the sights at the target. How accurate are black powder rifles ? Older versus newer ? How about black powder pistols as well ?
My older front loading rifles aren't accurate at all. I will not shoot any games beyond 65 yards because the bullet might not hit the vitals. When I pull the trigger, I'm not even certain if the gun will fire. On average, I get 1 or 2 misfires every 20 shots. I also have an older inline front loader made by H%26amp;R. The gun felt ';modern'; but accuracy and reliability aren't very good as well.

My modern inline front loading rifles are very different. They will fire every time I pull the trigger. The accuracy is comparable to any modern rifles. I've never used them under extreme conditions (rain, snow...), so I don't know how reliable are they under those conditions.

As for black powder revolvers, their accuracy isn't too great but still acceptable. I think they are capable of better accuracy if their sights are better. Black powder revolvers are fairly reliable. Spent caps and/or powder fouling build up could jam the cylinder sometimes though. I don't have any black powder handguns of more modern design so I couldn't give you a comparison. How accurate are black powder rifles ? Older versus newer ? How about black powder pistols as well ?
Akluis gave you a very good answer.

I have many black powder guns and some of them are rifles that can shoot a group just as tight as my Remington 700 30-06. I have some cap and ball black powder revolvers that can produce groups tighter than a Glock at 30 yards.

So it all depends on the gun and mostly the shooter.

By the way I have a friend that can nail gulf balls thrown in the air with a Colt Walker and I have seen people hit a paper plate with a black powder Sharps at 1000 yards.
very accurate. in line with the 30 caliber rifles as far as accuracy is concerned.

Newer models more accurate then the older models

    no experience with the pistols-sorry
The gun is only as accurate as the one firing it.

Now why is it illegal to have a hunting lisence when you are allowed to hunt with a bow and black powder rifle

Most states that I am familiar with WILL REQUIRE you to have a hunting license for taking deer, period, whether you choose to gun hunt, archery hunt, or muzzleloader hunt. The hunting of the animal is licensable, not just your method of taking the game.

Now there are special seasons set up for archery and bow hunting, which typically open before general gun season, but you'll still need a license to take game or attempt to take game during those periods.

IN georgia and florida, you'll even need a hunting license to go trapping. Consider it just another tax.Now why is it illegal to have a hunting lisence when you are allowed to hunt with a bow and black powder rifle
its not illegal hereNow why is it illegal to have a hunting lisence when you are allowed to hunt with a bow and black powder rifle
It is not illegal to have a Hunting License, but it is illegal not to have a Hunting License.*
I don't know about your state but it not illegal here.
Your question is confusing. You're implying that it is illegal to HAVE a license. Could you re post the question a little more clearly?
When you go bow or black powder hunting without a license, let a game warden check you %26amp; see if he/she agrees, that you don't need the license
You legally can't do one without having the other...Simple
Bow season is first because it is quiet and it does not spook the deer. Also, Archery is more difficult and it gives a person the bulk of the deer to choose from. It is set up to allow for Archery season to be a sport.
Are you inquiring as a convicted felon who has a firearms restriction? If so, you still need a license, but the DNR and law enforcement may cross reference having a gun deer license with the owner also using/and having firearms. A serious infraction if true. It is legal to buy a gun deer license, just not to use it with a modern firearm. Most states do not consider muzzleloaders firearms, and you may need a gun deer permit in order to participate in the muzzleloader hunt. That's fine as long as you only have a muzzleloader in your possession if they check up on it. Some people think that the fact that they are not stopped when purchasing a license as a sign that they are still allowed to firearms hunt. This is not so. An archery license should not pose any problems, neither should ownership of archery equipment. It may depend on individual restrictions (probation) however.

The proper way to clean a black powder weapon is just like they used to, with hot soapy water and lots of elbow grease. After it has dried then run a patch down the barrel with gun oil , wipe the outside with the same. I use an old toothbrush on mine to get all the nooks and crannies.

Use water as hot as you can stand it, the hot water heats the metal and helps it to dry.

NOTE: ';don'; is a title of respect for a man who has achieved a certain dignity. Sounds like this don Francisco made a gift of this old black powder pistol to some border guard at Nogales. i had five black powder guns hanging on my wall for display. d.o.c.came into my home and arrested and charged me with 5 counts of a felon in possion of fire arms. washington st. has there own laws but does federal laws over rule ?What are the federal guide lines for a felon owning and displaying a antique black powder gun or replica?
Under state law and federal law its possible for a convicted felon to legally own a firearm. However, there are several important factors that must be considered. The type of crime the conviction was for, whether you completed your sentence, probation or parole. If a pardon of some type effectively restored your civil rights. All of that has to be evaluated to determine if you have regained the right to own firearms. And if you served a year or more for your crime it is going to be really difficult. Federal law is boss in your situation. What are the federal guide lines for a felon owning and displaying a antique black powder gun or replica?
THE ATF will always over rule state and local authority. As a convicted fellon you have rights under the law, and you also have responsibilities as well. Two of you lost rights are under the 2nd ammendment The right to keep and bear arms, and your 4th ammendment right to be free from search and seizure and the right to privacy.

There may be other rights you have lost as well, and under most rules for ex-offenders ignorance of the rules in no deffence. You are ultimately responsible to know what you can and cannot do. I would check into the Perris Hilton deffence of late,(i didn't know, no one told me, i didn't understand etc. etc...) you might catch a break.
If these guns were operational or could be made operational, that is why they took them.

As ridiculous as it sounds, they are still lethal weapons.

I would appeal to the judge and court that they were antiques and for display purposes only. You might get away with it, as long as you didn't have any black powder and shot laying around them.

I think the status between state and federal depends on what your felony was for. If it was for a federal crime, then the federal statute may apply....an attorney can probably clear that up.
Federal laws always take precedence however, you must abide by federal and state laws. If you ever have any questions about what you are legally allowed to do ask your P.O.

Where can i buy black powder, without buying it online?

Always try and buy both black powder and smokeless powder locally at sporting goods stores before resorting to buying it from a catalog or online.

BOTH FedEx and UPS will add a ';Hazardous Materials'; fee to your shipping costs significantly raising the cost per can over what you can get it for locally. (Typically $20 per shipping box that contains it).

When heated, copper reacts with the oxygen in the air to form a layer of brown-black copper oxide on the surface of the copper.

Bring it to a gun appraiser.I found a 44cal black powder pistol model 1860; inscription: engaged 16May 1843 Armi San Paolo Brescia Italy?
It's a replica. When no one in the U.S. were making new black powder pistols, some companies in Italy and Spain started making them. It could be from anytime around 1960's to 1990's or later. Depending on condition it could be worth as much as $150 to the right person, but probably much, much less.
On the used market these Italian guns are selling at $100 and up. It depends on a few small factors.

Can a felon own a black powder rifle?

Depends on what state you are in and then in my home state of Indiana it depends on if the felony was considered a violent felony. A violent felon is bared by law in Indiana from owning a firearm including black powder. However a non-violent felon can own, use %26amp; posse a black powder rifle here. Can a felon own a black powder rifle?
Some states allow you to petition to have your second amendment rights restored but depending on the crime it may not even be worth it to try like domestic violence, crime involving weapons like armed robbery or discharging weapons at a structure etc etc. But federal laws do not prohibit felons in possession of black powder weapons. Can a felon own a black powder rifle?
It's my understand that since the BATF doesn't classify a black powder rifle as a firearm, that it is legal for a felon to own one.
Yes - in fact there was a time in this country where you would leave your rifle at the prison gate and they gave it back to you the day you were released.
The answer depends on what state one is living in. Federally it is legal. But States like California and New Jersey it is not.
Under Federal law yes it's legal

Need info on Rogers and Spencer 44 cal black powder revolver from Sile Dist.Replica i believe?

Your revolver is a replica that was imported by Sile Distributors. Sile is located at 998 N. Colony Rd.; Meriden, CT. Their phone number is (203) 238-4285.

Sile imports many different guns and gun related products from overseas. Most, if not all, of the replica guns are made in either Spain or Italy. Guns that were imported 30 or 40 years ago were pretty much junk. The more recent imports, especially those from Italy, are really well made guns. If yours was made by Pedersoli, it is cream of the crop.Need info on Rogers and Spencer 44 cal black powder revolver from Sile Dist.Replica i believe?

What is a good recipe for black powder?

i have kno3,charcoal and sulfur i just need good measurementsWhat is a good recipe for black powder?
The standard composition for black powder manufactured by pyrotechnicians is 75% potassium nitrate, 15% softwood charcoal, and 10% sulfur all by mass. These ratios have varied over the centuries, and by country, but can be altered somewhat depending on the purpose of the powder.

Have you tried Black Powder by MRI (workout supplement) how does it compare to No-xplode?

I used NO for a year and it worked really well. I have used Black Powder for the last 2 months and it is awesome. The performance is similar and you get great results from both. The taste is quite different, with Black being hard to handle at first, but it gets better. My friend and I like the taste better than NO Xplode now. As for pricing, Black and NO xplode are very similar ($59.99 for 2 lbs. of NO, $57.49 for 1.76 lbs. of Black), but when actually using it they are nowhere similar in how long they last. NO recommends to use 2-3 scoops per workout, and 1 scoop on off days, where as Black states to use their product only on workout days and use only 1 scoop and not at all on off days. That means that you get through NO nearly 3-4 times faster than Black, which means $60 x 4 = $240 to Blacks $57.49. With all that said, you should try both to see which you like better, but since I have, I would recommend Black hands down. Good Luck with lifting.Have you tried Black Powder by MRI (workout supplement) how does it compare to No-xplode?
i have used xplode and i am curently taking black powder. personaly i did not like xplode. to get good results you have to take two or three scoops. but with black powder you only need one. alot of people said that xplode pumped them up but it only made me feel bloated and down. once i started to take black powder i felt and saw it working the first day. the taste is alot better than xplode, being sweeter than xplode's sour, well just nasty taste. i have now been on BP for a month and a half and i have seen great results, and i recommend it to any guy that wants to get that extra pump.
