How much black powder for cannon?

how much black powder is needed to blow a golfball out of a cannon??How much black powder for cannon?
When I was a ';mischievous'; youngster MANY years ago, I blew a C Cell battery out of a copper pipe that flew about 45 feet ( pipe was sealed and soldered shut on one end and just enough gap to slide the battery down the barrel ) with a hole in it for the wick and needed only about 1 OZ of gunpowder to do it... So 2-3 OZ should be way plenty if your cannon's inside diameter isn't too wide , otherwise the flame will shoot right around the golfball and it'll go no where !

Depends, do you want the golfball to go thru a car door ,or do you want it to pop out the end ?It also depends on what your cannon is made of ,if its made from thick walled iron or steel pipe use alot , if it is made from copper or pvc use very little.Dont blow your self up dude

haha i dont know but I'd like to learn taht for myself...not that i would break the law and mess around with explosives or anything.
