Need suggestions on black powder rifle purchase.?

I'm going to buy my first in line black powder rifle for hunting and target shooting.Looking at used Knight and Thompson center rifles.Which models are good and which should I avoid?Need suggestions on black powder rifle purchase.?
I would look into Savage.

Unlike the ones you mentioned, the Savage will also use black powder substitutes that can push 2200 plus feet per second.

If not, both you choices are excellent, but I am a Thompson fan.

Good Luck.Need suggestions on black powder rifle purchase.?
Either brand makes good inlines. They both have their higher dollar models and of course their economy models. However i would never purchase a used muzzleloader. That and i'm kind of partial to Traditions myself. Just pay close atention to any heavy pitting inside the barrel if you in fact decide to buy a used one. they call them ';widowmakers'; for a reason. Don't become part of that statistic.
You have chosen the 2 best makes of black powder guns. as long as you stick with these 2 you can't go wrong.
Both brands make good rifles. Which ever gun that appeals to you will be just fine and will serve you quite well.
