How do u make black powder into a solid pellet?

black powder, the stuff u buy at the store. the stuff that makes guns go (BOOM)How do u make black powder into a solid pellet?
Interesting name you selected (Boom).

STOP RIGHT NOW!!! Whatever you are thinking about doing, DON'T DO IT!!! I can not stress this strongly enough.

As was mentioned by another poster, the pellets that you can purchase are most often Pyrodex, which is a black powder substitute. What is important to note here is that Black Powder is a Class A Explosive. That means that it is pressure sensitive. Pyrodex is a Class B Explosive, and is not pressure sensitive, and that's why it can be compressed into pellets. A pressure sensitive compound will ';go off'; if it is stressed, like would happen if you tried to make your own black powder pellets. DON'T DO IT!!!

I worked on the development of black powder substitutes, and participated in early testing of those compounds. We used store bought black powder for comparison purposes in some of the tests. You have no idea how much energy there is in black powder. In fact, since black powder only burns with about 55-60% efficiency, you are better off with a substitute anyway. Even Pyrodex, which is not nearly as clean-burning as some of the other substitutes, easily exceeds the efficiency of black powder. Add in the safety margin that is afforded by using a non pressure sensitive propellant, and I have to wonder why people still use as much black powder as they do.

Just for safety purposes, let me say this one more time: NEVER subject black powder (or any other propellant really) to any vigorous physical stress. How do u make black powder into a solid pellet?
the pellets u refer to are pyrodex, a black powder substitute

they are designed to be used in in-line rifles

they do not work well in traditional black powder weapons
You don't!

Black powder is nothing to mess with, unless you want to lose

your hand, or any other body parts, then go right ahead.
